Celts and Vikings Store is Canada’s store for Northern European themed clothing, gifts and Home Decor. Each item has either Celtic, Viking, Goth or Steampunk styled art work on it. We can also help you make the perfect themed event or your Medieval wedding fantastic. 80% of our items are handcrafted by the store owner and 5 other artists she found in Canada, USA and the UK. The 20% that is not handcrafted are Statue and Movie replicas. Owner Brahva, always had a calling by her ancestors and once she started studying the ancient cultures and rituals and their beliefs she found it fascinating and was hooked. It has always been amazing to her that the majority of Caucasian people did not know a thing about where they came from, and none understood any of the true meanings of the art or symbols, through hundreds of years of reprogramming to the Roman way.
Through the years, she developed friendships, through conversations about this subject, and in doing so found other amazing artists. She started selling these products in Canada back in 2002 when they were really the first of this kind of thing then. Before that she had startedf with mythical candles. In 2013, of these aquaintances told her about a little place called Crawford Bay where she found a unique area with other artisans who also did ancient professions, thus she found home.
Brahva carves, woodburns, and/or paints on wooden Druid staffs, wall plaques, boxes, altar plaques, and more. She also makes candles and has recently took up making drinking horns taking lessons from her friend in Calgary. Her main craft however has been leathersmithing – making leather masks of Mythology or Animal Clan Totems of her Celtic or Scandinavian peoples, pouches and bags, Clan Shields, bowls, arm and leg armour, hats, leather jewelry, accessories and more. She grew up in the theatre and film industry and she was a special effects makeup artist so she loves to create and has come full circle. When Brahva has time she also paints using acrylics, as well as handpaints t-shirts & ball caps, and makes beaded woodburned jewelry.
